• Approximately two years ago, I began experiencing some acute lower back pain as well as a “catching” sensation in my hips. This pain was not really new to me; I had experienced this type of pain, in various degrees since my early twenties and I am now in my early forties. A dear and trusted friend of mine, who is also one of Dr. John’s patients, suggested I make an appointment with him. Although I was skeptical, I made that appointment, and it changed my life- for the better!

• Dr. John immediately began to treat “the problems” with a combination of adjustments, followed by massage therapy with Nancy Citelli. Soon the pain was alleviated and after several treatments, I began to notice that the back pain and “catching” sensations in my hips, pain I thought I would hove to continue to live with for the rest of my life, was essentially a part of my past.To maintain proper alignment of my spine and hips, every four to six weeks, I continue to see Dr. John and therapist, Nancy Citelli. • When I started here, my migraines were so extreme that I had tension in my neck and shoulders. My muscles stayed contracted and tense. My lower back also caused me problems. • Dr. John has been treating my family and I since 2001. About March of this year (2008) I developed severe pain in the mid to lower back. After complaining about this to my medical doctor because I had been on prednisone for a gastrointestinal issue for a number of months, he ordered lumbar x-rays. The x-ray report said I had severe degeneration of 2 discs in the lower lumbar, and medium degeneration in one more. Of course, right away they started talking about surgery. I brought the x-rays to Dr. John and after consulting him; he felt that my symptoms were such that he could help me. The x-rays basically showed compression of the discs and not necessarily degeneration. He stepped up my treatments to twice to three times a week depending on how frequently I could come from Asheville, NC where we now live. After 4 weeks, the pain and stiffness has subsided and is almost gone. We will continue to watch this and move on to our “maintenance” schedule again.
